Afternoon Stroll

NyCee, Mocha Oprah, and Taliyah decided they would take an afternoon stroll.

Well, Mocha is a lazy little princess who does NOT like to be outside and NyCee can only go to the end of the driveway.

So when they reached their destination (the end of the driveway), they stopped and rested as if they had really exerted a lot of energy.

Nana Ida

Prior to leaving GA for our semi-annual trip to MI, NyCee's maternal grandmother Ida came to visit for a few days. I don't know who was more wore out at the end of the visit, Nana Ida for trying to keep up with a then 16 month old or NyCee trying to keep Nana Ida busy.

NyCee is such a blessed little girl to have a very large extended family. There is Nana Ida (my mother), Granny (my mother), Grandma Quincy (Lewis' mother), G-G (her great grandmother Grace), Gma Twona (her great grandmother who lives in Carbondale, IL), Grand dad OB and Grandma Martha (her great grandparents who live in Wetumpka, AL) and a clan of other family members too numerous to count.

WOW! What a blessed little girl to be surrounded by so many people who love and care for her.

Either..... or!

Either my parents have extremely low door knobs on their doors,

or NyCee is taller than the average 17 month old. She is barely on the tips of her toes to open the door.

The Happy Couple

(Sorry for the blurry photo. I will post a better one later.)

After 22 years of courtship, my Aunt Roz and her beau Leslie Robinson decided to make it official. They are engaged. Yes, you read correctly. A 22 year courtship. Aunt Roz was all a glow when we met at her daughter's house for a dinner celebration. (My family celebrates all events with food!)

Although, I specifically told my aunt to call me after she called her son and daughter-in-law in Minnesota--she failed to do so. As a result, Cari beat me in publishing the information on the blog. However, I have a picture of the ring. It is GORGEOUS! Everyone became teary eyed when Aunt Roz recapped how Leslie proposed.

Aunt Roz has made it perfectly clear that she will not have LONG engagement. After all, it has been 22 years. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HAPPY COUPLE!

Face off

Ever since NyCee and Mocha has become comfortable with one another, they have staring matches.

Looks like Mocha lost this round.

Tickling the Ivory

Since arriving home, NyCee has grown found of the music that she hears. Everyday, her grandfather practices the organ and as soon as she hears him playing, she runs right in there and sits on his lap.

Today, I was able to snag a photo of them. But true to form, when my father saw the flash, he turned around and smiled for the camera.

NyCee has been dancing with Mocha, playing piano with grandpa, and singing with grandma. I wonder which talent will win. Perhaps, she will utilize all three and be the winner of America's Got Talent.

New Addition

I would like to introduce the newest addition to the Williamson Family:

Mocha Oprah is a pomerian mix. She was living with Tarisa and her roommate in San Diego. Mocha is quite the little princess as she will not go outside if the ground is wet. I don't know what she is going to do when it snows. I told my dad to buy her a little doggie snow suit with a pair of mittens so that she will be warm in the winter time.

Mocha is a California dog. I don't know what she is going to do in the winter. She is going to get the shock of her life.

Dual Purpose

Apparently, yogurt is not only good for eating.

It serves as a lubricant also.

Potty Success

After combining all the advice that I have received and finding a middle ground about how to start potty training NyCee, we have our first success story today.

When she wakes up in the morning, I sit her on the potty for about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Really, I am just trying to acclimate her to the potty as I do not want her to be afraid of it. Normally, she just sits there and looks at me thinking, "Mom, what is going on here? What am I suppose to be doing?"

Since birth, I have always spoken clear concise words to NyCee--not baby talk. So while she is sitting on the potty, I ask her if she has to "pee-pee and if so she must put it in the potty." Well, today my talking paid off. She actually put pee-pee in the potty. I know that she would have relieved herself anywhere and she is not actually potty trained, but it was so fun to congratulate her on this success and to watch her smile and clap with excitement.

Monopoly, DUH?

After a very intense, competitive game of Monopoly from which I emerged the winner, I stated, "Oh, now I understand why this game is named Monopoly."

LJ: "You are trying to monopolize the board by purchasing all the properties to beat the other players."

My cousins and I use to play monopoly for hours when we were kids and I never knew why the game was given that name. (Just another one of my infamous "Little Red Stick" moments.

Six Flags over Georgia

On a day when it was incredibly hot and humid, we decided to go to an amusement park where we would have to walk around in the sun, stand in lines for rides, and sweat like hogs ready a Thanksgiving feast. Nonetheless, NyCee got to enjoy her first amusement park ride.

Taliyah rode one child's ride and the boredom showed on her face.

She was able to ride Monster Plantation, but

too short for Superman and all the other exciting roller coasters.

Recovering quickly from her disappointment, she a Lewis enjoyed the bummer cars.

After perspiring to the point of near exhaustion, we headed over to the water park to cool off.

To adjust to the water, she went down a "baby" slide as she called it.

That "baby" slide created quite the splash at the end.

She then stood under a water fall that she said, "Was really, really, cold."
Overall, we had a very good day. I sent my father a text message which read, "Being at Six Flags on a day when it is 98 degrees and 85% humidity makes a sister glad that she knows Jesus." It was hot! We were sweating before we even got situated to ride the trolley to the park. Good thing I packed plenty of Gatorade to keep us hydrated.

NyCee and her pal Petey

As if NyCee did not have enough toys crowding my family room, she now adds Petey the Caterpillar to the collection. It is just a toy that she can rock back and forth on but she enjoys it. There are times when she rocks so hard that I think she is going to tip herself over.

Taliyah even enjoys riding Petey. Either she is incredibly bored to the point where she is attempting to entertain herself by playing with toddler toys or she enjoys playing with her little cousin. A little of both maybe?

They're always in my head

My eight year old niece is visiting for the summer and as a result every theme song from the Disney Channel is resonating in my head.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,
That's so Raven,
Hanna Montana, &
Cory in the house.

And who knew that DirecTV offered Disney 1, Disney 2 and Disney 3. The greatest joy of each day is that she can just oscillate between the channels and at any given time one of the shows is on. I have seen re-runs and I just started watching it. Re-run or not, she faithfully tunes in on time.

Between her shows and Tater Bean's shows, I am going stir crazy. I really need to go back to work to have adult interaction and conversation. Some one please save me.
