Would the statement, "It was the thought that counts" work in this scenario?
(Forgive the grammatical error as the candy decorations did not come with an apostrophe to properly spell father's.)
We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don't know what to do, we never give up. In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again. (2 Cor 4:8-9 CEV)

I think the cake looks great! Tell Lewis that I'm sorry I didn't speak to him yesterday. I picked up my cell phone to call him yesterday to tell him happy father's day, apoligize for not sending a card, and find out how I could make it up to him. Well, I had a senior moment. I didn't realize that I never actually spoke to him until I read the blog. Tell him I'll have to make it up to him.
OKAY,so I have to admit that the cake does look nice but exactly what happened to the patch without the icing????????????
